Samples CRUISING LANE 2nd Release

Cruising Lane 2 is a second version of the original Cruising Lane song. In this version I added flute, air lead, vox and acoustic bass instruments to the original song. All these winds, voices and rhythm were recorded on the Roland XP-80 synthesizer.

Gruisinesque
was inspired by musical great Dave Grusin. There are six instruments, rhodes keyboard, bass, violin pick, whistle, an orbit pad and brush drum set. Behind the Dave Grusin influence, Grusinesque hints to a reference to the earlier sound of the great George Gershwin.

Into the Wind
was inspired from a jingle I made up one day while running into a powerful headwind, cold wind howling, whistling. At times, wind gusty enough to cancel forward motion! Into the Wind features eight instruments: nylon guitar, acoustic bass, fantasy vox, harmonica, vibes, oboe, a square lead and jazz drum set.

Freight Line is performed in a minor key of blue. Locomotives pull a long train of freight down the rail. The rhythm of the wheels going over the tracks. An early composition, Freight Line was recorded on a single track, with keyboard and drums. I didn’t want to change it, keeping it true to its first form. Freight Line is my first song recording project on the XP-80 synth.

Two Sides There are two sides to every story, as in the phrase / paraphrase style found in this tune. In Two Sides, there are two instruments, the midi-grand piano and drum set.

Sailin' Home. The warm feeling of sailing into a home port after a long voyage, helped by a strong current and a gentle breeze on the quarter. There are seven tracks, nylon guitar, acoustic bass, vox, bottle blow, a sinusoid rave sound, vox-flute and drum set.
