Short Stories                                      The Short Stories album was produced in 2002.

The album consists of primarily guitar instrumentals. The energy from guitar felt abundant when creating Short Stories. I was working on a chance project at the University of Illinois in Urbana / Champaign at the time. The average age of co-eds was about 20. Youth inspires. Most of the cuts were recorded after work, in my hotel room, using a portable digital recorder, a click track and my Fender Telecaster guitar. Drums, keyboards and other parts were added back at the home studio.

This album was a blast to produce. Some of the musical ideas go back to tunes out of memory from decades ago. Now it is exciting to hear these songs as they come to light.

As a result of the excitement around some of the songs in Short Stories, an immediate supply of new material came together, and the collection found on Lakeshore Nights was born.
